Ensuring that you have the right person working with you towards your goals is really important.
This is why we offer you a free 1 hour initial consultation. This meeting gives us the opportunity to sit down and chat about what is important to you and what you would like to achieve as well as giving you the opportunity to discover how we can assist you.
At the end of our first meeting if you feel that the fit is right we can get down to the nuts and bolts and begin the planning process. We can explore a comprehensive plan dealing with all aspects of your financial situation or we can look at the one or two areas which are important to you. At this time we will also disclose all of our fees so that there are no surprises down the track.
All of our advice needs to be in writing and so there is generally a gap of 3 weeks between first and second appointments for most clients. If your situation is time sensitive we will work with you to meet your needs. The second appointment is where we discuss the plan which we have designed to meet your unique situation. We will step you through the plan so that you fully understand how our recommendations meet your goals and ensure that you are comfortable with our strategy.
Once you are comfortable with our recommendations we do all of the hard work in implementing any changes that need to be made and meet with you once the plan is set up to review the changes that have been made and to answer any questions that you may have.
We will also work with allied professionals along the way, such as accountants, solicitors and mortgage brokers as required.
Putting a plan in place is only the first step in achieving your goals. At Search Planning we believe that it is only through reviewing your situation, monitoring how you are tracking towards your personal targets and making adjustments for those times when “life happens” that you will achieve your goals. We work with all of our clients, sharing in not only their successes but their challenges and build a lasting relationship to ensure that we are there to support you at every step along the way.
Cash flow management is the foundation of any financial plan or strategy.
Having a realistic and achievable spending plan is the first step in taking control of your finances.
At Search Planning we can help you put a plan in place to ensure that you can make the most of your available income.
We do this by:
- Reviewing your current income, expenses & spending habits
- Identifying ways to create efficiencies
- Working with you to prioritise spending
- Put a spending strategy in place to help manage money, simplify arrangements and create good habits
- Review your progress regularly to ensure success
Through this process we work with you to change your habits, improve your financial position, reduce stress and help you achieve your goals.
Life Happens… and not always how we want it to
When it comes to managing your wealth, one of the most important aspects to consider is how you protect yourself against the unexpected. Accidents, illness and sudden deaths happen every day – and in a blink you could lose the assets and the lifestyle you’ve worked so long to achieve.
Your most valuable asset is your ability to earn an income, after all this is what keeps everything going. Protecting it will help to see you through difficult times. Your other significant asset, if you have family, is the primary carer. Lose either of these, even temporarily, and the impacts may resonate for years.
Personal Insurance is the foundation of any strong financial plan. It is there to minimise the impact of events outside your control, ensuring the freedom for you to choose your financial outcome. Life insurance provides security to preserve your family’s lifestyle in the event of an accident, serious illness or death.
Love it or hate it, superannuation is a big factor in planning for your future, whether you are 20 and starting out in your first job, or 55 and looking towards retirement
The right superannuation advice can help to set you up. At Search Planning we work with you to enable you to understand how superannuation works so that together we can plan for your future.
We help you understand how you can save in a tax effective manner for your retirement, keep you up to date with ever changing superannuation legislation and ensure that your super is invested in line with your goals and tolerance for risk.
Common conversations we have with clients include:
- Am I paying too much in fees?
- I have multiple super funds and it is too hard to keep track of them and too hard to consolidate them.
- I don’t understand how super works
- The Government keeps on changing super rules and I don’t feel that my super is safe
- How much money can I put into super
We work with you to ensure that you understand the super that you have, that it is easy to manage and that it will continue to grow with you to meet your needs now and in the future. We assist with consolidation and take all of the hard work out of your hands so that you can focus on the things that are important to you.
Planning your retirement can be both exciting and nerve wracking at the same time.
Clients often ask “How much money do I need before I can retire?” or “Will I be able to afford to live?”. The answer to this is not always as straight forward as it may seem because no two clients are the same.
Retirement planning starts not with “how much money you need” rather with “what are your goals for retirement?” Once you have clarified what you want your retirement to look like we can put your pre-retirement plan in place focusing on:
- Maximising your savings via superannuation and traditional savings accounts
- Eliminating debt
- Exploring your options for Centrelink assistance
And, once you get to your retirement day we can structure your assets so that you have a regular income stream replacing your regular salary, a cash nest egg for emergencies and larger expenses and access to Centrelink benefits (if appropriate). Most importantly we can hold your hand every step of the way so that you feel comfortable and confident going into a new exciting period in your life.
We can help in other ways too
In addition to the standard Financial Planning areas mentioned in detail we also work with clients in the following areas:
- Debt reduction
- Planning for a property investment purchase
- Centrelink strategies
For further information on any of the above areas, please contact us.
